Our Story

Beauty Rhapsody Day Spa opened its doors to the awesome clients of Bundaberg and their families on 11th March, 2013. Though the story of Beauty Rhapsody Day Spa began some time ago…

Owner Deborah Hutton, known as Deb for many, moved to Bundaberg mid 2007.

Her Story

Prior to that, I completed my studies at Australian Institute of Applied Sciences at Stones Corner/Greenslopes for Diploma of Beauty Therapy in 2004. During the course of my Diploma, I gained experience and employment at Harbour Day Spa, Cleveland/Raby Bay working as a Spa Attendant and gradually working on clients once certain modules were completed. Then, heard of another, more challenging opportunity going at a very popular home-based beauty salon. The owner; due to have a child within the month… I gained fulltime employment, learnt new ropes, new things, run the business on my own. Unknown to myself, there was a secret mystery shopper whilst there, was then nominated for a business award within the beauty salon industry around Bayside, Queensland. Well… won it!

Then, after a few personal hiccups. I came to Bundaberg.  My Mum and Dad were already here, living a happy life in Innes Park North, (as Bundaberg became their 2nd port of call), where I occasionally came for holidays over the past 10 years. ‘Loved it’.

Once here, in Bargara, gained employment early with Vanessa Morgan Skin Management Centre, though as my lil boy was not liking me being away too long, I decided to then base myself from home and started dropping flyers all over Bargara and dropped flyers at local businesses.  My business was named; Beauty @ DJs.  The few days a week became full, I began to offer clients after 5pm timeslots. I went to three days…

I met Rick, he lived at Avoca. Decided to move there. My lovely Clients followed. Once at Avoca, I walked and dropped flyers around all over Avoca and at local businesses.  Then 3 days became 4. With added hours through the night…

One of my clients; challenged herself and went from her home-based business to a shop in Earls Court, Bourbong Street, Bundaberg.  There was a shop vacancy next to her. Challenge accepted. Shop 8, 176 Bourbong Street, Bundaberg became Beauty Rhapsody.

Beauty Rhapsody became popular, I was running the shop 6 days a week, starting as early as 8am and some nights finishing at 9pm. Loving it! I employed Megan as a part time Beauty Therapist. Spare moments I had whilst wasn’t working was always ticking over of how to improve my existing business and my dream of owning a Day Spa was forever in my mind.  Mid 2012 came the time when decisions were made. Support was there. A few different locations came to mind, then the one I settled on: Shop 5, 7 Barolin Street, Bundaberg (few steps from where I was)… Always wanted to stay in town as the foot traffic is needed. Then came my vision, my plan, my team.

August 2019 came a deciding moment to condense my space of business. When this happened, we moved from shop 5 which occupied shop 6 as well to just occupying shop 6.

With this decision, went a few less treatments and less staff.

Rapsody is now a place our staff and we are all loving our more personalised space as I’m sure you would too. XO

Bookings

To avoid disappointment, please remember to book your next appointment before you leave, to ensure availability. Please note that children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times during the visit.

Arrival

We request that you arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your treatment so that you are able to relax and complete any relevant consultation forms. When you arrive on time you are able to experience the total benefits of your treatment. Late arrivals will determine the length of your treatment. Your service will end on time to ensure that the next client is not inconvenienced.

Cancellation Policy

If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, we kindly request that you provide at least 24-hours notice, so that your time slot may be allocated to another client. Last minute cancellations will incur a 50% charge, and non-arrivals will be charged the full service fee, and gift cards are void.

Gift Cards

Gift cards are available for that special someone, for any service, in any amount. Gift cards are non transferable for cash.  Gift cards must be presented on arrival. Gift cards NOT redeemable if “No Show” for Appointment.

If using a gift card then please quote the voucher number.  Gift cards expire 3 years from the date of purchase.

Refund Policy

All treatments, spa packages, gift vouchers and products purchased are non-transferable and non-refundable.
